Don’t be shell-fish: Support Cape Henry Rotary’s 40th Oyster Crush in Virginia Beach
The Cape Henry Rotary Foundation is gearing up for its 40th annual Oyster Crush fundraiser on Sunday at Ballyhoos in Virginia Beach.
Spend the afternoon (1-6 p.m.) dancing to live music and enjoying all-you-can-eat raw and roasted oysters, steamed clams, clam chowder, barbecue and fried chicken. Save room for a cool beverage. Must be 21 and older to attend.
Proceeds from ticket sales ($75 per person) benefit 19 charities, including Homes Fur Hounds, Hospice House of Hampton Roads and Judeo-Christian Outreach Center.
The foundation was founded in 1984 and has global and local goals including promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, saving mothers and children and growing local economies. This event has raised more than $340,000 since 2015.
